Biographical Statement
Kim Schoenberger is an artist residing on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, a sculptor and ceramist Kim's art practice is much about balance and like the constant swing of the pendulum she oscillates between clay being the dominant material and found elements that she gathers and frames as seen with her assemblage artworks.
In 2011 Kim was selected as one of ten artists for the Artist by Artist project; a collaboration between ABC Open and Queensland Arts Council commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Queensland Arts Council. Recent featured articles include The Journal of Australian Ceramics and The Australian Magazine for Textile Arts TEXTILE Fibre Forum for her mixed media works Expressions of Love.
Kim continues to broaden her skills engaging in a range of teaching experiences, residencies and of course, the more usual exhibition. Kim has been in over 40 group and 5 solo shows since 2000.
In addition, in 2006 an image of Kim's work was included in the prestigious US book 500 Pitchers published by Larks Books. Kim was one of twelve finalists in the 2003 National Graduate Exhibition at Fusions Gallery in Brisbane and received graduate awards in both 2002 and 2000.
Kim undertakes private individual commissions whilst her studio work finds homes amongst discerning ceramic collectors, represented in private collections in Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, Germany, USA and Japan.
Gallery representation include; Main Street Gallery, Montville and Studio 4 Gallery, Marcoola.
